The symbol of eternal love
"Once upon a time there was a beautiful and graceful nymph named Nera who fell in love with Velino, a young shepherd. The goddess Juno, envious of this love transformed the nymph into a river, the river Nera. The young shepherd, desperate for the loss of his beloved, went to the top of the cliff and threw himself into the river to be reunited with her."
Today, that waterfall is the Marmore Falls, the symbol of eternal love".
The face wet with steam rising from the point where the waterfall meets the river, the sound of the water pouring powerfully and ceaselessly, and that light, cool cloud through which amazing rainbows are continually rising, give this place a magical aura.
Five paths branch off along the waterfall: the Lovers' Balcony, right in front of the first jump; a path particularly suitable for children, with a beautiful view of the second jump; a path for families, to admire the canyons carved into the rock; the Lower Belvedere, perfect for admiring and photographing the waterfall; a recently created flat path, with a privileged viewpoint over the whole area of the Nera River Park.
The Marmore waterfall offers a winding and surprising water path for those who want to practice canyoning, rafting and canoeing.
